Insurgent Attacks Politically Driven- Senate President
Ahmad Sirajo Makama,Abuja
The President of the Nigerian Senate, Godswill Akpabio, says the spate of insurgent attacks across the country is being sponsored and deliberately orchestrated to distract the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Akpabio made the revelations on Tuesday during his remarks at the commissioning of the Nigeria Revenue Service Corporate headquarters, Abuja.
The Senate President, who also attributed the insecurity challenges to political activities ahead of the 2027 general elections, predicted that the attacks would subside once the 2027 general elections are over.
According to the Senator Akpabio,
“You are seeing insecurity today; it’s even increasing because the election is coming.
As soon as the election is over, watch out for the first two weeks; you won’t hear any bomb blasts because people are sponsoring to distract,” he said.
The Senate President commended President Tinubu’s administration, saying the president remains focused on reforms despite several political pressures.
