Bago Road Projects Validate Mugani Akasa's Saying

Bago Road Projects Validate Mugani Akasa's Saying

You know the Hausa saying, "Mugani akasa"? It means "let's see it on the ground," and it emphasises the importance of tangible proof over mere promises.

Niger: FG terminates road contract over contractor's shoddy job

Recently, Governor Umar Bago has taken a commendable step by allocating five kilometres of road construction to each of the twenty-five Local Government Areas in Niger State.

This initiative is not just talk; it is becoming a reality. I have witnessed firsthand the newly constructed road in Lemu township, which serves as the heart of my Local Government Area, Gbako. As the saying goes, "Even if the market got uprooted now, the fetish salesman has counted his gains." I, too, can count my gains thanks to this development.

This experience brings to light an essential truth: our beliefs must be solidified by action.

Governor Bago has transformed his promises, foresight, and vision into real infrastructure for our communities. I still remember the hopes we had back in 2013 to 2014 for a well-tarred road initiated during Kantigi’s tenure as Commissioner for Local Government.

We anticipated progress, but we were left disappointed as the project stalled after only "earth-grading.”

Now, I am pleased to report that three kilometres of road have been completed in Lemu, with an additional two kilometers connecting us to Edozhigi.

While I remain cautious in my optimism, it is important to acknowledge the significant progress that Governor Bago has delivered.

As the adage goes, "There’s an occasion happening in the household of the dog; I must witness it for myself before believing it." I can confidently say that I have witnessed this progress firsthand.

The smooth, quality infrastructure is no longer just a concept; it is now a reality in my community.

To further validate my observations, I want to emphasise that the images and experiences I share stem from my visit home last week. True reporting stands on its own merit, and I encourage open-mindedness in examining these developments.

While perspectives may vary, it is crucial to celebrate the achievements of Governor Bago and acknowledge the positive changes he is bringing to our communities.
