First Lady Urges Youths To Strive for Greater Achievements
By Ahmad Sirajo Makama, Abuja
Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, has urged the country’s youth to strive for greater accomplishments and avoid being satisfied with modest achievements.
She advised while receiving the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Youth Wing at the State House, Abuja.
She encouraged them to embrace diligence in all endeavours to attain greater heights, noting that patience, integrity and hard work remain essential virtues.
”God always knows our needs and that is what the young people do not know, they are always in a hurry. And I am teaching you how to learn contentment and not be beggarly.
“You have to have the Eagles mentality. When the Eagle sees the storm, he laughs at it and sees how he can fly above it. That is what you should all do. You should always look for your own path and not because that person has it, I want it,” she advised.
Mrs Tinubu commended the youth leaders for working in unity to strengthen the party’s activities, particularly at the grassroots. She urged members of the APC youth wing to conduct themselves in ways that would bring respect and honour to the party, especially in engaging Nigerians on the achievements of President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
The First Lady noted that, as a key arm of the ruling party entrusted with promoting the Renewed Hope Agenda, members must demonstrate resilience and strong commitment to building a hopeful future.
She later presented nine buses to leaders of the APC Youth Wing to support mobility for party activities and community service.
The APC National Youth Leader, Dayo Israel, thanked the First Lady for the gesture, assuring that the youth would continue to promote the party’s policies and programmes ahead of the 2027 elections and beyond.
”We are committed to the Renewed Hope Agenda, what you have done today is to enhance our capacity to be able to reach out not just for electoral mobilisation but to be able to improve the lives of Nigerians,” he said.
The buses were presented to the APC National Youth Leader, Dayo Israel; Deputy National Youth Leader, Jamaludeen Kabir; and other zonal leaders, including those from the Federal Capital Territory.
