The Nigerian military has arrested a suspected bandit identified as Sule Yellow, who allegedly used the TikTok handle @suleyellow6 to promote the activities of terrorist groups.
According to a report shared on Monday by the X account @mobilisingniger, the suspect was apprehended shortly after he allegedly collected ransom money from the family of a kidnapped victim.
Prior to his arrest, Sule Yellow was reportedly active on the social media platform TikTok, where he frequently shared videos of armed bandits’ activities.
On March 4, he was said to have appeared in a livestream alongside another suspected bandit identified as Auta and several others.
Security sources indicated that operatives had been monitoring his online activities for some time before tracking him down and arresting him.
Following the operation, authorities also disabled the TikTok account allegedly linked to the suspect.
“The Nigerian military arrests a notorious bandit, Sule Yellow, after collecting ransom payment from the victim’s family,” the report stated.
It added that security forces had since shut down the account associated with him following the arrest.
