Atiku Launches Digital Platform for Direct Citizen Engagement

A former Nigerian Vice President and African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has launched a technology-driven platform to enable citizens to engage directly with him on national issues.

The platform, known as Ask AA, went live on Thursday, and it’s designed to provide citizens with an opportunity to question Atiku on his public service record, policy proposals and vision for Nigeria.

The portal, askatiku.ng, will allow Nigerians to ask questions and offer suggestions on critical issues, including the economy, national security, technology, job creation and the rising cost of living.

Atiku is expected to respond personally to questions, with support from his media team.

The initiative also includes plans for a radio interface to reach Nigerians in communities with limited or no Internet connectivity.

Explaining the rationale behind the platform, Atiku said it was designed to promote open dialogue and encourage citizens to scrutinise his economic record, examine his policy proposals and contribute ideas for national development.

He also disclosed plans to personally call selected participants who provide their contact details to hear directly about their experiences and concerns.

The Director of Strategic Communication for the ADC Presidential Campaign Council, Phrank Shaibu, said the initiative was intended to bring Atiku closer to the electorate through a practical, problem-solving platform.

Shaibu said that 'Ask AA' reflects the candidate’s commitment to using modern technology to promote efficient, secure and responsive governance.

"By opening a direct channel for questions, feedback and policy discussions, Ask AA seeks to encourage greater citizen participation in conversations about Nigeria’s future,” he said.
