Tinubu Reinstates Suspended Finance Permanent Secretary Danjuma
By Maryam Muhammad
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the reinstatement of M.S. Danjuma, Permanent Secretary, Finance (Special Duties), following the lifting of his suspension over an investigation into the activities of a purported government agency.
The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Olumuyiwa Enitan Abel, conveyed the President’s approval in a letter dated October 22, 2026, directing Danjuma to resume duty with effect from October 21.
Danjuma was suspended on August 21, 2026, alongside two other permanent secretaries, following a report by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC).
The report concerned the activities of an alleged agency known as the National Brands Development and Made in Nigeria Special Project Office, reportedly promoted by George Buchi Nwabueze, with suspected involvement of public servants in the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation.
Following due diligence, Tinubu lifted Danjuma’s suspension and directed him to return to his official responsibilities in line with the Public Service Rules, applicable regulations and ethical standards governing the Federal Civil Service.
The reinstatement takes effect from October 21, 2026.
