Hajj 2027: NAHCON Announces Approved Fares
By Ahmad Sirajo Makama
The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has announced the approved fares for the 2027 Hajj exercise following the Federal Government’s approval of the new pilgrimage costs.
According to a public notice issued by the commission on August 14, 2026, the approved fares were determined after extensive consultations with the leadership of the Forum of State Muslim Pilgrims’ Welfare Boards, key service providers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, as well as a careful assessment of prevailing exchange rates and service costs.
Under the new fare structure, intending pilgrims from the Maiduguri and Yola zones will pay ₦7,560,822, while pilgrims from the Northern Zone will pay ₦7,672,822.
Pilgrims from the Southern Zone will pay ₦7,882,822, making it the highest fare among the three designated departure zones.
NAHCON stated that intending pilgrims who had previously deposited ₦5 million are required to pay the outstanding balance to complete their registration.
The commission also advised new registrants to make their payments through their respective State Muslim Pilgrims’ Welfare Boards, Agencies or Commissions, or through any approved Hajj Savings Scheme (HSS) participating bank.
In line with the policy of the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, NAHCON fixed September 26, 2026, as the final deadline for the complete upload of intending pilgrims’ biometric data on the designated Nusuk-Masar digital platform.
The commission further directed all states to complete the remittance of 2027 Hajj fares by December 2, 2026, warning that no extension would be granted beyond the stipulated deadline.
According to the commission, timely remittance is critical because data synchronisation and seat allocations depend entirely on meeting the payment deadlines.
NAHCON emphasised that failure to comply with the deadlines would result in the forfeiture of allocated Hajj slots.
The commission urged all intending pilgrims and relevant stakeholders to adhere strictly to the guidelines to ensure a smooth and successful 2027 Hajj exercise.
